A (very) quick intro to narrative scripting using Ink

Inky -- narrative scripting tool
authoring tool is entirely free and runs on Mac, Windows, or Linux
content can be exported and used freely for web, iPad, phone apps, PC, Mac, whatever...

Ink Tutorial -- everything that I'll be showing is covered in this beginners tutorial...
Ink scripts can be written in any text editor.  The Inky tool is a text editor that has a panel on the right side that allows you to run and test the script...


Post-Meeting Conclusions:
  • We're going to have beacons in Lithia Park for the Pollinator Trail -- let's use at least some of those for this adventure!
  • A narrative structure similar to the demo above to introduce the Gnome Trail and lead the user to collect a MAP
  • After collecting the MAP, then the user can use it to trigger other interactions at points within Lithia Park (some for just this trail, others can be shared with other trails…
  • ideas for more interactions — collecting more trophies (buttons? maybe triggered in-app by arriving at each location), whispers, notes, etc.
  • once the map is fully explored, a conclusion narrative could be available at WR…
